Opening 9th July 2010: our feel-good summer exhibition Horrockses Fashions - Off The Peg Style in the '40s and '50s.
Beautiful summer dresses and glamorous evening wear were specialities of Horrockses Fashions Limited, manufacturer of one of the most respected ready-to-wear labels of the 1940s and 1950s.
The company is best known for its full-skirted dresses that were sought after by women everywhere and were even worn by Queen Elizabeth II.
The exhibition opens on 9th July and runs until 24th October at the Fashion and Textile Museum.
Full details here.
As always, we have a number of great talks and workshops to complement the exhibition.
You can view the full schedule here.
