Get a taste of the creative industries with these two-day courses covering fashion Photoshop, film production and screenwriting.

Fashion Photoshop
Choice of dates in July:
Monday 19- Tue 20- Wed 21- Thur 22- Mon 26- Tue 27- Thur 29- Fri 30
Develop a funky fashion portfolio in Photoshop! You'll learn fun, simple and exciting techniques to transform images and develop your own artwork and fashion designs.
Basic computer skills are required!

Film production training
Monday 26 July- Tuesday 27 July
No-one listens?Well make them. Run by CTVC - a professional TV and radio production company- the course is designed to support you to make a film about issues that matter.

Thursday 29 July- Friday 30 July
A two day introduction to screenwriting that will demystify the process and set you on the path to writing your first film script.

Courses are delivered by industry experts and run from 10 am - 3pm each day here at the Fashion and Textile Museum.

Limited places. Courses are at no cost to people aged between 16 and 18 years old on 31 July 2010. If you register for a course but don't attend you may be charged a cancellation fee.

About the Speakers

Rebekah Roy is a fashion stylist and creative consultant based in London and will be talking about why you should have an online presence.

Rebekah is currently Fashion Editor at Fashion.Music.Style magazine, and styles for a wide variety of clients from Visa, Nintendo, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Harrods and Virgin to celebrity clients including Kate Nash, Sarah Brightman, The Feeling, Little Boots and Billy Idol. Rebekah works extensively with cutting edge designers, including William Tempest, Stef├ín Orschel-Read and Jasper Garvida ad styles several shows each London Fashion Week. She is also well known for her blog Stylist Stuff and writes regularly for Drapers Online. She is unique stylist because of her ability to communicate ideas, collaborate on any kind of project and incorporate a wide variety of influences.

Leon Bailey Green will be presenting top tips for e-commerce

With years of experience crossing digital media, marketing, fashion and retail, Leon has been a consultant to numerous companies operating in the online fashion sector. He has assisted online fashion businesses with marketing, content, buying and recruitment strategies, as well as overall business analyses. As a blogger Leon has been published on Drapers Online and contributed to Econsultancy, NMK and Enterprise Nation. Leon produced Online Fashion 100, which was published online by The Independent earlier this year, to celebrate the main players in the sector who have helped the industry to grow. He judged the online fashion industry's very first etail awards, has chaired events for the London Fashion Network and sat on the panel for the Let Them Eat Cake's bloggers talk. As an expert in this sector Leon's commentary has been featured in Retail Week, Drapers, Catalogue e-business,, The Independent, JC Report and Scarlet to name a few.

Designing Shoes and Handbags – week long courses this August

Our expert tutors will show you how to design shoes or handbags in these fantastic value 5 day summer courses.

Introduction to handbag design

Monday 16th – Friday 20th August, 10am – 4pm

Show us a woman who doesn’t like her handbags and we’ll eat our handbag!

Learn about the design process, from sketching out your ideas to choosing materials, creating your own design and producing bags. Tutor Ann Saunders used to be design coordinator for Laura Ashley and is now a visiting lecturer at the London College of Fashion, as well as running her own accessories company.

Designing Shoes

Monday 23rd to Friday 27th August, 10am – 4pm

This introductory course takes you through the fascinating history of footwear from the bejewelled pumps of Elizabeth I to the bejewelled pumps of Jimmy Choo.

We will look at how shoes are made and learn to design and illustrate our own ideas. The course ends with a practical exercise following the stages taken by professional designers to produce a range of shoes. This will include illustrations and 3D mock-ups. Led by Chris Hill who has been designing shoes for over twenty years, some of her students are now household names – Jimmy Choo, Emma Hope and Patrick Cox.
